Bundle several actions so they can be folded away or run together

Group

A group bundles several actions into one logical step, for example "Depart from station A" or "Stop at station 1". In the script editor a group can be folded away, which keeps long scripts readable. Groups can be nested, so a large script reads like a table of contents.

Settings

SettingDescription
NameThe name shown in the script editor, such as "Travel to station B".
DisabledA disabled group is skipped during execution. Useful for temporarily excluding part of a script without deleting it.
RepeatWhen enabled, the group runs again after its last action.
Repeat conditionOnly shown when Repeat is on. The group only repeats while this condition is met. Without a repeat condition the group repeats until the script stops.

How it works

  • The actions in a group run from top to bottom, each one only when its own execute condition is met.
  • Like every action, a group can have an execute condition itself. If it is not met, the whole group is skipped. This makes a group run only when, for example, a specific turnout is thrown or a sensor is active.
  • The repeat condition is checked after each full pass of the group, never in the middle of it. A group with Repeat on always runs at least once.

TIP

Groups replace the sections of earlier versions. Existing sections are converted to groups automatically, with their name, execute condition, and repeat settings.

Example

A shuttle script consists of two groups, "Drive to A" and "Drive to B", inside a third group "Shuttle" with Repeat on and a repeat condition "Flag Service is enabled". The train keeps shuttling until you turn the flag off, and then finishes the current round before stopping.
