Release notes

Here you can find more details about the latest changes of Model Train Script.

12.0.0

This version gives you more flexibility in organising your scripts and brings a lot of improvements to the user experience.

  • Throttle and Profile workspaces: driving and editing now each have their own workspace. Switch between them with the toggle next to the MTS button; each keeps its own screens, so you never lose your place.
  • Mini throttles: drive several locomotives at once from small floating throttles on the layout. Place a shortcut with a vehicle as target to open one.
  • RailCom actual speed: with a Z21 and a RailCom decoder, the throttle shows the locomotive's actual speed and the quality of the RailCom reception.
  • Groups replace sections: bundle actions with the new Group action — anywhere in a script, and even nested. Existing sections are converted to groups automatically.
  • Condition action: run different actions depending on the state of your layout with if / else if / else — for example stop on red, slow down on yellow.
  • Choice action: let the user decide what happens next. A choice asks a question on every connected device and runs the actions of the option that is picked.
  • Reset variables action: reset all variables to their default value in one go, for example at the start of an operating session.
  • More flexible conditions: new rules for chance and for the model clock reaching a time, copy and paste of rules and groups, and turning a condition into a reusable one.
  • Wait until a time: the wait action can wait until a specific time of day, on the model clock or in real time.
  • Remote connection (beta): share one profile between several devices. The automation runs in one place and every device works with it, and several people can operate the layout together while the profile stays central. Turn it on under Settings → Advanced; see Remote connection.
  • Several smaller improvements and bug fixes.

11.2.0

  • Improved assistant: the AI assistant has been improved and can now edit your scripts and timetables. Enable it under Settings → Advanced.
  • Fixed moving an item in the layout editor, which could misplace the item or leave a duplicate behind.
  • Element selectors for scripts, routes, timetables, paths, sounds, and variables now offer the option to create a new element on the spot.
  • Several smaller bugs have been resolved.

11.1.0

This version adds the following new functionality:

  • Reusable Paths: path definitions you can reuse in your scripts.
  • Shortcut element on the layout: an item that starts a script, timetable, route, or reusable path.
  • Custom accessory state labels: tap a state's icon in the layout item editor to set your own name for it; the label is shown in place of the default state name throughout the app.
